The factory Jeep Wrangler JL tailgate and spare tire mount cannot hold up to the added weight of an oversized tire. The Rough Country Tailgate Reinforcement Kit allows you to run a full-sized spare tire without damaging your Jeep. This 100% bolt-on kit is designed to add strength and rigidity to your tailgate while reducing wear and tear. Precision laser cut from steel plate and finished in a durable black powder coat; the Rough Country Tailgate Reinforcement Kit will serve your Jeep for years to come.
Vehicle Specific Design: Rough Country Tailgate Reinforcement Kit is engineered to fit all JL Wranglers. It is compatible with both 2 and 4 door models, and works with all factory trim packages.
Added Strength: The aluminum and magnesium factory tailgate is not strong enough to hold up to the stress of a large aftermarket spare tire. By adding a steel plate to the outside of the tailgate, this kit provides the support you need.
Full-Sized Spare Tire: When used in conjunction with the Rough Country Spare Tire Relocation Bracket (sold separately), the Rough Country Tailgate Reinforcement Kit allows you to run up to a 35in spare tire.
