That steering wheel kick / steering wheel shimmy you feel is bump steer (up thrust bumps, nosedive dips, rolling ruts and side-to-side kicks from the terrain). Controlling the terrain helps reduce the physical fatigue of fighting the road. Improves steering response time and allows you to enjoy the drive.
