Heavy Duty. This is a cross member designed to offer better protection underneath the vehicle than the factory sheet metal. Developed using CAD files obtained from the manufacturer, this HD Crossmember provides a great fit with factory components. Bottom line, this HD Crossmember is going to hold up to the beating your Wrangler was intended to take.
When Factory Sheet Metal Won't Do. Wrangler owners are famous for finding rutted logging trails and rocks, all of which are going to inflict damage sooner or later. Don't wait for the inevitable backlash. The HD Crossmember is a perfect answer. Manufactured from 1/4 inch thick steel, the HD Crossmember arrives unpainted to facilitate color scheme matching and is easily touched up after a hard ride. A thought to keep in mind: this crossmember changes the factory captured nuts from M12 to 3/8 inch to work with the JK Under Armor Belly pan kit. New skid plate hardware is not shipped with this Crossmember but with the belly pan. New 3/8 inch bolts will be needed along with extra wide washers that may be necessary for use with factory skid plates.
Installation. The HD Crossmember requires general mechanics skills. Customers have noted successful installation in about 20-30 minutes.
