Effective and Stealthy Hood Security. You may not necessarily think of under-the-hood components as items that can be stolen till it actually happens to you. Fortunately, there’s the BOLT Lock Hood Lock. This hood lock is the specialized lock that mounts right behind your grille, enabling you to effectively lock your hood. This feature makes this lock a more efficient option for locking hood latches. More significantly, this lock is easily programmable to your ignition key so you don’t have to carry a different key on your fob.

Brawny Build Quality. This hood lock assembly features a brawny housing made from precision-cut plate steel for exceptional strength. The lock cylinder for its part uses a plate tumbler sidebar design, making the lock extremely resistant to picking. The lock also features a stainless steel shutter, preventing moisture and dirt from entering the lock. Meanwhile, a thermoplastic plug with the BOLT logo is integrated into the assembly and further protects the lock from moisture while also keeping it inconspicuous. Finally, the assembly is finished in a corrosion-protective black powder coating.

No Nonsense Install Procedure. This hood lock is designed to mount onto preexisting locations in your engine bay right behind your grille. No modifications to your ride are necessary although you will need to trim a portion of the screen on your grille to make the lock accessible. Also, a riveter is needed for this install. Other than these steps, installation is a relatively no-nonsense process that’s completed using just standard hand tools.

JL Hood Lock Grille Insert Modification Instructions

Certain Jeep Wranglers and Jeep Gladiators are not compatible with the included JL Hood Lock grille insert. The vehicles we are currently aware of that aren't compatible are:

• Jeep Gladiator
• Jeep JL 4xe Hybrid
• Jeep JL 392
• 2024+ Jeep Wranglers

For Jeep models that are released that are not compatible with our included insert, we've provided a template to modify your stock grille to make your vehicle compatible with our BOLT Hood Lock. Please note that the JL Hood Lock is not compatible with any Wranglers equipped with a Trail Cam, due to the location of the camera. Instead of using the grille insert that comes with the JL Hood Lock, you will need to cut and remove a portion of the stock grille. You can do so by printing off the template that matches your grille below and using the guide to cut and remove the area necessary to fit the lock. Templates
