This shield is a product of expertly combined advanced textiles to form two layers of thermal protection. The outer layer is a tight woven fusion of heat-treated glass fiber and molten aluminum. This is reinforced by the inner layer’s specially treated and high-temperature resistant fabric made from 89% silica.

Forms the Best Heat Soak Barrier. The two-layered design provides a reliable protection against direct heat exposure of up to 1350°F. This makes the ONYX™ series a very popular choice for engine starters that are generally vulnerable to malfunctioning caused by heat soak issues.
