Slick-Looking and Highly Functional Tube Steps. If you prefer a bright, mirrored gleam of polished stainless steel in the sunlight rather than yet another textured black finish, the Rugged Ridge Stainless Steel Side Steps add exactly that detail to your 1997-2006 Wrangler. A straightforward length of 3” stainless steel pipe with a high polish and curving ends, these steps double as rocker panel body armor and offer some shielding to the lower edge of the door. Step pads are also included, made from tough, high traction nylon and secured by 5 pins for sturdiness. They’re saddle-mounted on the tubing, so that water won’t gather under them to start rust or freeze and expand in cold weather.
Rust-Proof Component. The 3” stainless steel tubing used in the Rugged Ridge Stainless Steel Side Steps is fabricated from T304 stainless steel, a top grade that shouldn’t even develop surface rust in most situations. The wall thickness is 0.109”, making this an effective bit of armor for your Wrangler. The nylon step pads are treated to be ultraviolet (UV) resistance so that they won’t split or weaken even after years in a southwestern sun. The mounting brackets are 3/16” powder-coated plate steel.
Drilling Frame Needed. The Rugged Ridge Stainless Steel Side Steps require the addition of new mounting holes to your Jeep's frame. These are drilled using the steps’ brackets as a template. The nerf bars then attach using self-tapping bolts that are included along with other hardware. These are torqued to 35-45 ft/lbs with a torque wrench.
Standard 5-Year Warranty. The Stainless Steel Side Steps, like all of Rugged Ridge’s heavy-duty metal components, comes with a 5-year limited manufacturer's warranty.
Application. The Rugged Ridge Stainless Steel Side Steps are sized to fit TJ generation Wranglers from the 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ Models, Excluding Unlimited.
