Construction. The steel construction is durable enough for the Gas Cap Door to maintain its shape, even after you open and close it several times a week for years. It's designed to fit right over the existing opening for a customized look. The semi-gloss black powdercoat finish is specially formulated to resist fading when exposed to gasoline or other chemicals. Durable self-tapping screws with the same semi-gloss black powdercoat finish are included.

Installation. Installation of this Rugged Ridge Gas Cap Door does require some drilling for the self-tapping screws, so you need a marker to designate the drill points while holding the door against the side of the Jeep. You'll also need a Phillips screwdriver, but no other parts. Unlike some gas door kits, you don't need to remove the taillight or other components as part of the installation process. The job should take you about an hour to an hour and a half to complete. Before starting the installation, it's a good idea to open the door and ensure it works properly.
