Gear Specs. Yukon Gear & Axle's Front Dana 44 minor install kit will provide your Rubicon JK with the ability to change its gears without the major expense. The kit includes pinion seal, crush sleeve, complete shim kit, and a brush with marking compound. This kit is used when changing ring & pinion gearing. What makes this a minor kit is the absence of bearings and races, on newer vehicles this change is completely unnecessary because the bearings should be in good condition but that varies between drivers, environments, maintenance and a whole load of other variables but the kit with the bearings is readily available.
